Trees, shrubs & vines
We're doing a 5 year rotation of nature study at Bukit Jalil using Anna Comstock's book "Handbook of Nature Study" as our guideline. This book is available in the public domain (free!). This term Oct-Dec 2018, we're studying trees, shrubs & vines. We covered these topics: 1. Trees - the parts of a tree, tree seeds that have parachutes, flowering trees 2. Leaf study - name the parts of a leaf, classify by color, shape & catalog it 3. Seeds 4. Twigs 5. Conifer cones & flying seeds - interestingly, cones are closed when its cold & will open when its warm to release its seeds. 6. Creeping climbing vines
